Today we went to Lotta’s house on an island off Turku in Finland. I know Lotta is part of our journey in some way and we must keep entwined.
Her house is on an island on the edge of the sea. The small waves were frozen on the shore line. Time had stopped.
She spoke about a podcast talk that she has listened to over a 100 times and how before we go for the walk rather than us observe nature, that we let nature observe us. This made me think about Annamtuul’s simulation of their inner world. That their simulation is programmed to grow from observing them. That the center of them is not in their body but is everything around them and that it responds and grows on its own accord. A bit like how all our actions or inaction responds to our surrounding and the results of this interrelationship and the changes are hard to locate back to one’s actions. They just intermix with the environment and we carry on moving through time.
Later on when Lotta did her moth tarot reading, she spoke about the way in which we can respond to the tarot is like connecting the sky to the ground, you catch an idea and then you plant the seed. I think there is a Finnish word for this. It made me think about a technology that could be activated by a performative action. That maybe in Anammtuul’s inner world, every time they have an idea, they lift their hand in the air to catch it, then they put their hands to the floor to plant it in the ground. Each time they do this, these ideas are seeded and as the inner world simulation watches over you, they help the ideas grow. You can visit your garden of ideas but they are also alive without you being there.
A also thought a lot about Haruka’s time on the island that she often connect to inanimate objects or nature more than humans. I also wanted to connect to Natsumi and … island and just before we left, even though as it is winter I could not go there. I got to eat the bread made on the island. I am very excited to tell her.
